He’s a rockstar who lost his muse. She’s a graphic designer who discovers that kickstarting his imagination is the easy part…
Ozzy Martinez is smoldering.
Tatted and pierced. Everywhere.
With his sold-out Vegas residency ending, he’s scheduled to record his next album soon. Only problem? His creativity—and trust—are both MIA following a soul-crushing, deeply personal double betrayal.
McKenna James is feisty.
A Las Vegas original.
Brunette with an ever-changing shock of dyed hair.
She’s vying for a spot in a national competition that will give her the funds she desperately needs to care for her mother. But her contest submission hinges on new songs—from the one man whose productivity has run dry. Not to mention he embodies everything she’s vowed to leave behind.
For McKenna, he can’t be anything more than a ticket to success. For Ozzy, she’s an honest straight-shooter with a curvy body he remembers well. But then he finds himself divulging his darkest secrets. With every confession about his past, with every heart-pounding kiss, all the reasons why a romance between them can never happen fades.
Until he discovers her secret.
To have a chance at a life together, they both must learn how to Hold Still.
At the foot of the stairs, the crew takes her luggage from me, and I ask for my duffel. “Go on ahead of me, I’ll meet you up there in a minute.” I watch as she climbs the staircase, admiring the way her round ass sways as she ascends. Yup. She’ll definitely help me forget.
Grabbing a handful of condoms from my duffel bag, I wink at the flight attendant and bound up the stairs. Inside, McKenna runs her hand over the light beige leather seats, but I go straight to the sofa. Throwing myself down on it, thighs splayed wide, I pat the cushion next to me.
McKenna crosses her arms over her tits and stares at me from across the plane. Damn. What I want to do to her body. And I know, from experience, she’s a total wildcat in bed, always up to try anything. “Take your seat and strap in.” Smirking at my not-so-subtle inuendo, I pat the sofa again.
She shakes her head and sits in a chair across the way.
I poke my tongue against my cheek. “Why are you playing so hard to get? You know you’re going to love it, babes. You always have.”
Her lips thin. “I only needed a ride, Ozzy. I’m not going to sleep with you. Think you can handle doing someone a favor without expecting anything in return?”
“Who said anything about sleeping?”
“I’m serious.” She crosses her legs. Only now do I realize she swapped her sexy-ass heels for flats, too. Oh well, they’ll be off soon enough.
The flight attendant who saw me grab the condoms walks into the cabin with a tray, offering us champagne with a smirk. I stand and take two glasses. Handing McKenna a glass, I sit down on the chair next to hers and lean in. “We’ll see. We have five hours to kill.”
For as long as Arell Rivers can remember, she has been lost in a book. During her senior year in college, she picked up a romance novel … and instantly was hooked!
Arell started writing her first novel because the characters were screaming at her to do so. The story started coming out in her dreams and attacking her in the shower, so she took to the computer to shut them up. But they kept talking.
Born and raised in New Jersey, Arell has what some may call a “checkered past.” Prior to discovering her passion for writing romance, she practiced law, was a wedding and event planner and even dabbled in marketing. Arell lives with a very supportive husband who doesn’t care that the bed isn’t made or dinner isn’t on the table. When not in her writing cave, Arell is found making dinner in the InstantPot, working out with Shaun T or hitting the beach.
Arell is a member of the New Jersey chapter of Romance Writers of America.
My Review 5 Stars
ooooo where should i start????
Can i say how much i love that cover? How much i love when the cover really describe or is similar to the characters?
Being new to me author didn’t know what to expect and probably my review won’t do justice for how good was this book for me.
Put together a hot latin rockstar and a sassy sexy curvy amazing woman and you have the sexiest couple, the chemistry is over the top,the sex scenes are amazing described and very visual
Both have to overcome a lot of mistakes from their past and have insecurities and hard limits that don’t want to cross but also without wanting fail when they get to admit that they want more from their relation ,not just friends(with benefits) who help each other.
He is the perfect rockstar, finding himself at the end of a contract and needing a new muse to write and compose a new album, along with the much waited divorce from his ex wife,he prefers to ignore everything and drowning himself in parties and alcohol and one night stands, until he reconnects with the woman that sometimes e still dreams about.
McKenna is the perfect heroine, her past mistakes makes her stronger and wanting much more for herself and although she becomes the perfect daughter in taking care of her mother who is struggling with a terrible disease , her heart and body is not immune to Ozzy’s charms, tatted and pierced body.
It’s a story about real life difficulties, overcoming past mistakes and looking hopefully into the future, falling in love not only because of the great sex and the chemistry but because of the real person that only few people get to know and see,is about finding true love and not letting it go.
I will definitely read and review more from this author.
