One of my favourite book couples will always be Cletus and Jen and it’s been like this is few years now ,Marriage and Murder just makes me love them even more.

They really felt like Soulmates from the beginning and everything they had to go through to get that well deserved happily ever after just had my heart beat faster and faster, especially in this story.

I also want to high five Jen for being so open and talk about herself and her desires with the other heroines.

Another must read story by a favourite author.

Street smart by Ali Styles

4.5 stars

Eva and Marcos have chemistry and a driven will to protect what it’s theirs and to go and fight for it, especially if it’s about their love.

This is a great romance story with characters from Elements of chemistry by Penny Reid but with some side ones that I’m so looking forward to read their own stories in the near future (hopefully).

The romance didn’t miss any hit in my cards and the suspense was on especially in the second part of the book. I mean corporate espionage? I’m here for it.

Another great story in the pennyverse world

** BLURB **

What could go wrong—four words MBA student Marcos Oliveira ignored when he accepted a prestigious internship at Reedweather Media, a subsidiary of the legendary Sandeke Telecom empire.

What did go wrong? Everything.

And when Marcos stumbles upon incriminating documents that signal corporate espionage against Sandeke’s son Martin, he suspects his strange intern wormhole has just exploded into chaos. When his alluring boss Eva draws him in to thwart the plot, he knows it.

After spending their lives overcoming adversity, can Marcos and Eva handle this latest threat? Even more perilous might be their losing battle against forbidden attraction.

His Ivy League education didn’t prepare him for spy games and illicit flames. Good thing he has the street smarts to work for it.

‘Street Smart’ is a full-length workplace romantic comedy and can be read as a standalone. Book #1 in the Work For It series, Educated Romance World, Penny Reid Book Universe.

This story had me laughing so much that my jaw hurt. With a House kinda male character and a very strong heroine, the mix between romance and lab work was perfectly crafted in here in my opinion.

I’m nowhere near a nerd but I enjoyed all the banter and whatnot, all the “put my foot in my mouth “ moments that the hero had when dealing with his emotions and mostly, when he had to express them.

If you’re looking for a great story, pick this one up and you won’t regret it.

Dr. Maximillian Ramsey has a problem …⁣
I’m a jerk. Everyone I know or have ever worked with agrees. “Misanthropic asshole” is the term I hear most often.⁣
I don’t care what other people think as long as they leave me alone to focus on my research on soil microbiology. Plus, I walk with a cane thanks to a childhood accident. I have scars on my face. And if that isn’t enough to scare people off, my bad attitude and general grumpiness seal the deal. Which is just the way I like it.⁣
Except, I’ve been short listed for one of the most prestigious academic fellowships around. To win it, I’ll have to give a series of speeches. On a stage. With an audience. While being filmed.⁣
Yeah. None of that is going to happen.⁣
Unfortunately, my boss has a plan. He brings in one of the communications lecturers to give me a “make over,” help me write the speeches, and manage my social media.⁣
But the last thing I need is some nosy, bossy, gorgeous woman meddling in my life.⁣
And Holly is the solution…⁣
I’m a mere communications lecturer at a prestigious research university. I’m used to being outclassed and under-educated compared to the PhDs who surround me.⁣
But I’m good at what I do. Brilliant, actually.⁣
When Max’s boss (who happens to be my ex-husband) begs me to help transform this beast of a man into someone worthy of the fellowship, I have my work cut out for me.⁣
It’ll take a lot of badgering, blatant manipulation, and some outright thievery to get Max to cooperate. All of which I handle with the enough professionalism and restraint that should earn me a fancy grant.⁣
What I can’t handle is how unexpectedly attractive I find the stubborn and brilliant man.⁣
This is a battle of wills and wits, and neither is prepared to admit defeat …⁣

My saving Grace by Melanie Moreland

Grace VanRyan has her life mapped out.

Law school, a career with ABC, and a bright future ahead of her.

Until Jaxson Richards steps into the picture. He’s everything she hasn’t planned for.

Older, sexy, off-limits.

And her new boss.

When the passion between them explodes, will her life blow up along with it?

My thoughts

Grace and Jaxson are that perfect office romance couple that will mark all the boxes in your cards for a great story.

There’s enemies to lovers , age gap and a banter that made me want to high five Grace so many times.

Jaxson has trust issues, especially giving his heart out and I loved how the author has included the family dynamics between Grace and hers as well as how they received Jaxson into their life.

Author:  DK Hood

Gray clouds gather overhead as she runs along the dark road. Not a soul is out in the storm, or so she thinks. As the vehicle pulls up alongside her, she sees a familiar face behind the wheel and thinks she’s safe. Little does she know, she has just put herself in unthinkable danger…

When local cheerleader, Laurie Turner, goes missing after practice and her bright red pick-up truck is found abandoned by the side of a quiet road, Detective Jenna Alton fears the worst.

Visiting Laurie’s family house, Jenna senses that the teenager’s home life isn’t as perfect as her father would have people believe. Quick to temper and full of hatred towards Laurie’s mother, Dr Turner doesn’t seem to know the first thing about his own daughter, let alone how long she’s been missing for.

With the clock ticking, the whole town takes to the streets to find the missing girl and, after a frantic search, a terrible discovery is made at the bottom of an old mine shaft on the outskirts of town. Laurie’s pale body is totally still and Jenna is sure somebody in the local community is her killer.

When another cheerleader goes missing, Jenna thinks that someone close to the school is picking the teenagers off one by one. As she talks to the other students, it becomes clear that there are plenty of people who’d like to silence the girls forever.

Then her own deputy David Kane comes face to face with the murderer, and Jenna has to race to save him. Can she do so before it’s too late? Or will another young life be taken?

If you enjoy Lisa Regan, Melinda Leigh and Kendra Elliot, you will love this unputdownable crime thriller from The Wall Street Journal and USA Today bestselling author D.K. Hood.

How have I missed so many great books in this series I have no idea but I know that I’ll be looking up the previous ten stories. I had no problem reading it as a stand-alone so don’t shy away from starting it.

Jenna and David are a perfect team for the department and when they need to catch a killer, there’s nothing done halfway through, they just go for the kill even when their own life is in danger.

When a cheerleader is reported as a missing person, their police procedural abilities begin to shine.

Twist after twist and secret after secret, this story kept me guessing throughout the book and holds a fast-paced game at all times. I had my doubts of who were the guilty ones in here but the author had a great ability to keep me intrigued and added more suspense overall.

Don’t miss out on a great story.

Shivering in the early morning chill, the caretaker flips the switch on the Ferris wheel and stumbles back in shock. The teenage girl’s body is slumped in a halo of pretty colored lights, long red hair spilling over her tear-stained cheeks, her eyes fixed forever on her dangling feet.

When teenager Nikki Jackson’s body is found at an amusement park, just hours after Fourth of July fireworks lit up the night sky, the Lost Creek police rule her death as suicide––a devastating final act from a girl who had lost all hope. But the absence of the knife used to make the wounds on her delicate wrists makes Detective Madison Harper think otherwise. And the partial fingerprint found on the girl’s face proves her right. Someone else was with Nikki in her final moments

Back home in Colorado for the first time in seven years to investigate the murder of a woman with ties to the son she lost to the care system, the pressure is on for Madison to work both cases at once. Fearing the team has missed a vital clue, Madison searches the crime scene alone and finds the last thing she ever expected: a note proving the victims knew each other, and that the cases are linked. Is this a coincidence, proof a dangerous murderer is on the loose, or a trap set to lead Madison off the trail?

It’s only when Madison finally finds the knife used to harm Nikki, tucked in an almost impossible to find hiding place, that she knows she is closing in on a twisted killer. But the last person she expects to see dragged into the department in handcuffs is her own missing son…

An absolutely unputdownable crime thriller that will have you sleeping with the lights on. Addictive reading for anyone who loves Lisa Regan, Robert Dugoni and Melinda Leigh.

Cry for help it’s my first book by the author and now I have to go back and read at least the first story in the series because I absolutely loved this novel.

Right from the first page, I got engrossed in this mystery and couldn’t put it down so much so that I’ve read it in one sitting.

The plot was so interesting and I needed to know what happened in the past and who is the killer now as well as why is she unfairly accused of a murder that she had nothing to do with her.

I enjoyed the family drama and even the dog help that played a big part in the story.

Twisted and gripping, a must read crime thriller that many lovers of the genre will enjoy.

“Please, not in front of my daughter,” she pleaded. “She’s just a little girl.” He leaned closer, so close she felt his heated breath on her face. The blue jays that had been filling the valley with their chirping fell silent all at once when the woman’s cry ripped through the clear mountain air…

Detective Kay Sharp vowed she’d never return to her childhood home. On the night of her thirteenth birthday her broken family was shattered beyond repair, and leaving was the only option. Unable to fix her own past, she’s been an FBI profiler for over a decade, desperate to save others.

But now Kay’s back and only she can solve the crime that has rocked the tight-knit community of Mount Chester to its core. A dead woman has been found by Silent Lake under the dew-covered Fall leaves, her hair braided and her body wrapped in a blanket. This small town may be a stranger to murder, but Kay recognizes the signs of a serial killer. She’s certain that the ritualistic nature of the scene means it’s just a matter of time until he strikes again––unless she catches him first.

As yellow do-not-cross tape flaps in the biting wind, another woman is reported missing. Kay leads a frenzied search for out-of-towner Alison Nolan and when she locates her car, Kay’s blood turns to ice as she shines her flashlight on the backseat and sees a teddy bear. Alison’s six-year-old little girl, Hazel, has vanished too.

Kay knows the missing-person investigation could turn into a murder case at any second. But as she hunts for the culprit, her own past closes in on her. Can she find the killer before it’s too late? And will the secret she thought she’d buried stay that way?

A totally gripping and utterly addictive new crime thriller series for readers who love Lisa Regan, Robert Dugoni and Kendra Elliot. The Girl From Silent Lake gives “unputdownable” a whole new meaning!

Kay is back in a small town where she has to find a killer. Everything points out to a similar murder that happened years ago but the culprit is in prison for life and that definitely makes everyone wonder if there’s a copy cat and how fast they can impide the new murderer to take more lives.

Suspenseful, gripping, old secrets deep burred that eventually needs to see the light and a strong great heroine that is in the middle of everything.

It’s my first book by the author but it got me intrigued to read more stories by her and that’s what I’m planning to do in the near future.

Very grateful to the publisher for my review copy.

If you love small town romance and a hot and sexy firefighter, check out this book.

I enjoyed it quite a bit.

With interesting characters and a past that both have to deal with as well as coming to terms with a new life and hoping for a better future , their road to romance is not an easy one as many decisions are to be taken and it’s not always easy letting go of the things you once thought you couldn’t live without.

Check it out and hopefully you’ll enjoy it as much as I did.

She was my best friend’s wife—strike one.

Now, she’s a firefighter’s widow—strike two.

And she wants nothing to do with a man who risks his life every day—strike three.

Keeping an emotional distance from Natalie while still taking care of her after Evan died has been one of the biggest challenges of my life. One I’ve managed for two years.

Right up until she starts dating again, which kicks off a heated argument and ends in a soul-searing kiss. Once that line is crossed, there’s no going back.

But I eat, breathe, and sleep firefighting. It’s not just what I do, it’s who I am. I fuckin’ love this job. I never thought I’d ever let anything come between me and my career, but Natalie isn’t just anything. In fact, she’s everything—everything I never knew I wanted but now can’t live without.

The odds aren’t in our favor. If this job doesn’t tear us apart, the secret I’ve been harboring will

Told in alternating timelines, THE THINGS WE LEAVE UNFINISHED examines the risks we take for love, the scars too deep to heal, and the endings we can’t bring ourselves to see coming.

Twenty-eight-year-old Georgia Stanton has to start over after she gave up almost everything in a brutal divorce—theNew York house, the friends, and her pride. Now back home at her late great-grandmother’s estate in Colorado, she finds herself face-to-face with Noah Harrison, the bestselling author of a million books where the cover is always people nearly kissing. He’s just as arrogant in person as in interviews, and she’ll be damned if the good-looking writer of love stories thinks he’s the one to finish her grandmother’s final novel…even if the publisher swears he’s the perfect fit.

Noah is at the pinnacle of his career. With book and movie deals galore, there isn’t much the “golden boy” of modern fiction hasn’t accomplished. But he can’t walk away from what might be the best book of the century—theone his idol, Scarlett Stanton, left unfinished. Coming up with a fitting ending for the legendary author is one thing, but dealing with her beautiful, stubborn, cynical great-granddaughter, Georgia, is quite another.

But as they read Scarlett’s words in both the manuscript and her box of letters, they start to realize why Scarlett never finished the book—it’s based on her real-life romance with a World War II pilot, and the ending isn’t a happy one. Georgia knows all too well that love never works out, and while the chemistry and connection between her and Noah is undeniable, she’s as determined as ever to learn from her great-grandmother’s mistakes—even if it means destroying Noah’s career.

I know I’m late to the party but hey, I’m here now and fully understand why everyone talks so much about the author’s books and how much they love them.

It was a mesmerising story with a heroine that tries to change her life around 180 degrees and finds herself in a place full of beautiful settings and heartbreaking history.

This is one of those books that needs to be savoured and not rushed over because there are so many moments where you just need to put it down and feel. All the anguish moments that her grand grandmother had to go through, so much angst and love , everything adds up to a beautiful love story with a sad ending.

But the now moments between Georgia and Noah are so good, full of reliable content and that made me love this book even more.

If you haven’t read her books before, this is one you should start with.

Make it sweet by Kristen Callihan

Life for Emma isn’t good. The world knows her as Princess Anya on Dark Castle, but then her character gets the axe–literally. The cherry on top is finding her boyfriend in bed with another woman. She needs a break, and sanctuary comes in the form of Rosemont, a gorgeous estate in California promising rest and relaxation.

Then she meets the owner’s equally gorgeous grandson, ex-hockey player and current recluse Lucian Osmond, and she sees her own pain and yearning reflected in his eyes.

He’s charming when he wants to be but also secretive and gruff, with protective walls as thick as Emma’s own. Despite a growing attraction, they avoid each other.

But then there’s an impromptu nighttime skinny-dip, and Lucian’s luscious homemade tarts and cream cakes start arriving at Emma’s door, tempting her to taste life again…

In trying to stay apart, they only grow closer–and their broken pieces just might fit together and make them whole.

Sweet, heartwarming and beautiful romance.

I enjoyed the writing and how the characters have grown into falling in love and overcoming some bad twists of fate in their past.

It makes for a great lighthearted romance with swoons banter and some steamy scenes that many lovers of the genre will enjoy immensely.
